On March 3rd, the Building Industry Association, Riverside County Chapter hosted its LAC Luncheon. The event was held at the Riverside Convention Center and was sponsored by the Lincoln Club of Riverside, with Congressman Ken Calvert as the Key Note Speaker. Our guest speakers were Nathan Miller of the Lincoln Club and Congressman Ken Calvert.
As expected, the presentation by our guest speakers was extremely educational and enlightening on the subjects of state and federal regulation and economic stimulation. Nathan Miller focused on the Lincoln Club’s organizational mission to promote the ideas of limited government and free markets, and gave a state level perspective on legislation proposed since the 2016 elections.
Congressman Calvert spoke from his extensive legislative experience representing California’s 42nd district, giving the attendees an inside view of the political climate in Washington D.C. following the 2016 election. Congressman Calvert discussed the work that he and others are doing to promote economic growth on the federal level, and provided his insights on topics ranging from President Trump’s infrastructure plan to reform covering the tax code and environmental regulations. He concluded by taking time to answer questions from our attendees on a variety of issues and left on a positive note saying “I look forward to working with our job creators to kick our economic engine into high gear.”
The BIA would like to thank our guests for their time. Additionally, we would like to thank our partners and the Lincoln Club sponsorship that made this event possible, thank you!
