The natural heritage of a place defines the location and should be protected. The Riverside Building Industry Association understands the value in protecting Riverside County's natural history and is leading efforts to maintain and increase the amount of protected land.
The Multi-Species Habitat Conservation Plan (MSHCP):
The MSHCP is the most ambitious habitat protection plan in the nation. Riverside is growing at a rapid pace. Recognizing this, Riverside Building Industry along with the Farm Bureau, elected officials and the environmental community, including the Endangered Habitats League, began creating a comprehensive plan to balance growth with habitat protection. This rare collaboration resulted in one of the most ambitious conservation plans in America. After a five year planning process, the Western Riverside Multi-Species Habitat Conservation Plan (MSHCP) became the nation?s most aggressive habitat protection effort, creating the largest conservation plan to date.
THE PLAN:
• Protects over 146 species of endangered plants and animals
