JOB TITLE: Land Acquisition Analyst
REPORT TO: Director of Land Acquisition
EXEMPTION STATUS: Exempt
The Land Acquisition Analyst will be responsible for providing a broad range of duties to support the land acquisition needs for Griffin Residential’s homebuilding business and to provide support to the Director of Land Acquisition. A significant area of responsibility for this position will be in the research and analysis of off-market land opportunities.
The Land Acquisition Analyst will use a variety of database and marketing tools and systems to determine land feasibility and development potential. This position will research ownership information, prepare all initial analysis, and make all necessary contacts to initialize negotiations to purchase land. Scan mapping systems for vacant undeveloped land and research and review land that is underutilized and can potentially be re-zoned for residential use. The Land Acquisition Analyst will also maintain a database of all land opportunities.
The Land Acquisition Analyst will update and analyze basic proformas, budgets, and market data to determine potential and feasibility. Research and analyze basic sub-market demographics and growth trends and new project information. The Land Acquisition Analyst should be open for training regarding land use/zoning, finished lot values and land residual values.
The Land Acquisition Analyst will assist in developing tools that will systematically support the land acquisition program including maintaining a database of competitive market information and projects. The Land Acquisition Analyst should be well organized to enable the Company to be extremely effective and to react quickly to any potential deal.
The Land Acquisition Analyst will provide administrative support to the Director of Land Acquisition as necessary including taking meeting notes, ordering plans and scheduling meetings. The Land Acquisition Analyst will also be responsible for setting up and maintaining any and all necessary land files.

- Liaison with other departments to obtain information and follow up on outstanding issues to ensure tasks is completed timely
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- College degree preferred
- Ideally, the candidate will have 1-2 years of off-market land research/analysis experience with a homebuilder/developer
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills and software experience
- Ability to communicate and interact with various levels of staff
- Ability to handle priorities under pressure
- Must be able to work in a fast pace environment with a strong sense of urgency
- Strong work ethic, team player
