Tuesday, September 20th the Riverside Chapter successfully completed its Fall Desert Event of 2016--the third event in the Coachella Valley this year! Monterey Country Club, located in the heart of Palm Desert, generously hosted the BIA’s first ever Desert Water Panel. With the room packed to capacity, members and guests had the opportunity to socialize and interact with others in the industry in the Coachella Valley while learning how water greatly affects the industry.
We had a total of five panelists: John Powell Jr. from Coachella Valley Water District, Jim Cioffi from Desert Water Agency, Nancy Wright from Mission Springs Water District, Glenn Miller from Indio Water Authority, Steven Hernandez from the City of Coachella and special guest Charles Wilson from the Southern California Water Committee. Each panelist spoke about how their water agency has a direct impact on building in the Coachella Valley while Charles Wilson touched on our regional and state water situation. Several city officials from the Coachella Valley were in attendance, along with a handful of other city representatives from Riverside County. We had 4 Riverside Chapter BIA Board of Directors present, as well as the Riverside County Chapter team.
Attendees listened and learned while networking with fellow members, guests, and elected officials. We hope to see you all next year as this was our first Desert Water Panel and it was a huge success!
Thank you to all of the attendees and event sponsors as we had a successful Desert Water Panel!
