Greetings Members and Associates,
As Thanksgiving is approaching and as my second term as BIA Riverside County’s Board President comes to a close at the end of the year, I wish to express my sincerest thanks to everyone who has put their trust in me and have enabled this Chapter to be as successful as it is. Our recent Installation and Awards Dinner was, as usual, a huge success. I have the utmost confidence that our success will continue under the leadership of the newly installed officers and our incoming Board President, Mr. Leonard Miller.
During my two terms, our industry has faced many challenges and has persevered despite the best efforts of those who wish to stall growth and those who wish to use development as a means of financing alternate agendas. The BIA Staff, along with our industry partners, have effectively advocated for the implementation of policies that do not adversely affect our industry. Our industry contributes greatly to the improvement of the community, this includes enhancements in infrastructure, services and overall quality of life. Our members have been outstanding community partners and will certainly continue to do so. It is imperative that local elected officials and their professional staff work with us to ensure that fair and equitable practices, that are mutually beneficial, are maintained.
I am extremely proud of the events that have been hosted by our Chapter. Whether it is a Brew Bash, a golf outing, a poker tournament, a Board Retreat or a simple holiday party; we work hard and celebrate accordingly. Our events have become known as the ideal opportunity to expand your professional network, socialize with old friends and make new ones. I know that the BIA team will continue plan and host only the finest events and it is important that we continue to sponsor and contribute to the success of these events. As I have said many times in the past, it takes a team to make these events successful and our host of volunteers within our member ranks are a huge part of ensuring that success. Your membership, partnership and PAC contributions make all of these things possible. Again, I extend a thank you to all of our Members and Partners.
2016 is right around the corner and it will most certainly be a year full of new challenges, from proposed increases in fees to the election season. We must, and we will, continue to fight the good fight and have a good time doing it! In the meantime, please enjoy the holidays with your loved ones. Once more, I want to thank everyone for your support and your efforts over the past two years.
Jay Pierce, President
